History

The deeds go back to 1692, though several volumes from 1771 are listed only as 'water-damaged'.

Clues found here

  • Dead Letters. The post office keeps returning letters addressed to 7 Crane Street, a vacant lot, marked 'Signed for'. The signatures are in a round, old-fashioned hand. (The Great Fog of 1846)
