Blakemore House — the Collector's Residence
A gambrel-roofed mansion of 1740, shutters closed, a carriage house behind.

The Blakemores were shipowners, then magistrates, then collectors of 'antiquities of the Colony'.

- The Coachman's Account. Blakemore's coachman, well oiled, admits he drives the carriage to the Carver warehouse most nights at three. 'Took the Professor once. He was laughing. He never came back in the carriage.'
